
Learn to Ride at Paradise Harley-Davidson®
Course Description
The Learn to Ride course is an approved motorcycle endorsement course for all riders. No experience is necessary for this course.The course provides 8 hours of on-bike training and classroom instruction and builds basic street-riding skills and strategies.
The on-bike training provides practice in the basic skills of getting underway, turning, shifting and stopping. The course also teaches the advanced skills of low-speed balance and control, emergency braking, cornering and swerving.
The on-bike training is done in-person, at a range that is close to the delaership over 2 days. Training motorcycles 125-250cc and helmets are provided. The classroom portion of the class prepares students for the on-bike training and for street riding. Students attend 7 hours of classroom on-site over 3 days.
What to Bring
Riding Gear
Riding gear is required for all range (on-bike) activities. Students without the required riding gear will be dismissed without refund:- DOT-approved motorcycle helmet. Loaner helmets are available.
- Eye protection. A helmet face shield, goggles, safety glasses, sunglasses or eyeglasses are acceptable.
- Long-sleeves. A motorcycle jacket is recommended.
- Long pants. Sturdy pants must completely cover the legs and have no holes or tears. Athletic leisure wear like sweat pants, yoga pants, leggings and jeggings are not permitted.
- Full-fingered gloves. Gloves must cover entire hand and fingers. Leather motorcycle gloves are recommended.
- Low-heeled boots or shoes that cover and protect the ankle bone. Motorcycle boots are recommended. Boots with flimsy material (e.g. elastic “Romeo” boots) or boots that interfere with the normal use of controls (e.g. high heels) are not permitted.

- Rain gear and sunscreen – our courses run rain or shine.
- Extra clothing in case the weather changes.
- Healthy snacks and water.

Driver License or Vehicle Instruction Permit
Completion & Eligibility Requirements
Participants must be 15 years of age or older and able to ride a bicycle. Participants must have a valid driver license or motor vehicle instruction permit. A motorcycle instruction permit is not needed. All students must sign the required waiver form that is provided at the first classroom session.Students younger than 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the required waiver form.
You must complete all on-bike training sessions and classroom sessions. You must pass the on-bike skill test. Students must also pass a written knowledge test.
Most participants complete the course successfully. However, there is no guarantee of course completion. Students who fail to demonstrate a minimum level of safety will be dismissed without refund.

Registration
